Group buying giant Groupon has ended months of speculation by finally listing for an IPO, with the company hoping to raise $US750 million at a reported valuation of over $US20 billion just two and a half years after it was founded.

The filing comes alongside an update from music streaming service Pandora about its filing, with the company hoping to float its shares at between $US7 and $US9 each, delivering a valuation of more than $US1 billion.

The announcements confirm the new wave of tech valuations has been given a boost by LinkedIn’s successful float late last month.

Las Vegas—For those who are tired of hearing about tablets, Dell, at its CES 2011 press conference, launched the XPS 17 and the Alienware M17x with stereoscopic 3D screen options and new powerful CPUs based on Intel’s Sandy Bridge architecture.

The XPS 17 is the largest laptop in the XPS line, and one of the key features it was missing in the previous iteration was a full HD resolution screen, so it finally gets the elusive 1,920-by-1,080 resolution. There’s one significant change to the design: The full size keyboard has moved to the trending Chiclet-style. I spent some time typing on the new keyboard and came away pleased with the user experience. The wide touchpad and soft mouse buttons remain intact.
